The long arm was too long for my Saturn. It ran into stuff before I was able to move it far enough to loosen the belt all the way. It comes with a short arm that has an clever 8-point hole that allows you to attach it to the long army's 3/8" socket tip to make an "L" shaped tool that would allow it to work on any car. BUT, they put a 1/2" socket tip on the short arm!!! All of the included claw feet or sockets are 3/8"!! WTF?! I ended up just using a long open-end wrench!!

this wrench works on only some cars. other cars need long offset box end wrenches. this wrench is not indexed, so it is hard to position it to get on to the bolt. to get past this, you could crank the engine, but it would be better to have an 8pt indexed wrench. go with the more expensive sets for a more useful tool

Used this to replace the serpentine belt in a 1998 Chevy Malibu with 3.1-L V6. It worked fine for this purpose. The only thing I wish were different about the tool is that I wish you could twist (a little - say by 30 degrees) the 3/8-inch male stub on the tool, which you insert into the 3/8-inch female receiver on the belt tensioner. For the '98 Malibu, the tool's (thankfully) long handle was right up against the firewall when you were applying enough tension to slip the belt over the idler pulley. If that stub were twistable (or, better, "ratchetable"), that problem could have been avoided. Still, the tool is quite useful. This is the same tool that Autozone will lend you (at least the store near me) if you ask to borrow their belt tensioner, so I presume it's pretty versatile. It comes with a lot of little adapters, so I'm guessing you can make it work on just about any car. All in all, for the cost of the tool, it's well worth it to buy the tool and change your own...
